Silver

All the silver jewelry of CE studio is made of Sterling Silver 925; this is high quality silver. Sterling silver is an alloy of silver containing 92.5% by weight of silver and 7.5% by weight of other metals. 'Fine silver', for example 99.9% pure silver, is relatively soft, so silver is therefore alloyed with an other metal to increase its hardness and strength.

Care:
Lotions, cosmetics, hair spray, hair products and perfumes are “enemies” of silver and will accelerate tarnishing. Direct sunlight also causes silver to tarnish, so be sure to take off your silver jewelry before you go swimming and sunbathing. Also make sure to take of your jewelry before showering or bathing. You can avoid tarnish by wearing your jewelry often. The oils in your skin will “clean” the silver and keep it shiny!

Clean:
Specially formulated silver jewelry polishes are your safest option for polishing silver.

Gold Filled

Gold filled is an actual layer of gold-pressure bonded to another metal. Gold-filled is legally required to contain 5% or 1/20 gold by weight.  Gold filled is much more valuable and tarnish resistant than gold plated items.  If you treat your jewelry with good care, they do not flake off, rub off or turn colors for many years. This makes gold filled a very good alternative to solid gold. Gold filled is not to be confused with gold plating as gold filled has 100% more gold than gold plating. The layer of gold on gold filled items is 5 to 10 times thicker than that produced by regular gold plating. All gold filled jewelry of CE studio is made of 14kt gold filled.

Care:
Gold filled jewelry is cared for in the same manner as other precious jewelry. Lotions, cosmetics, hair spray, hair products, and perfumes are “enemies” of gold filled jewelry and will accelerate tarnishing. Direct sunlight also causes it to tarnish, so be sure to take off your gold filled jewelry before you go swimming and sunbathing. Also make sure to take of your jewelry before showering or bathing.

Clean:
The best thing you can do for your gold filled jewelry is to clean regularly using a little bit of warm water, and a soft cloth to dry and shine after. Many chemicals marketed for cleaning jewelry are actually somewhat abrasive or corrosive and can cause some damage or color alteration to your jewelry. The best way to avoid this is to keep it simple: warm water and a soft cloth.
